Australia failing as a one-day side?

We all know that Australia are lacking in experience, but are Australia going down?

Well, lets look at the stats:

06/07 test series vs England:
Australia win 5-0, only one match seemed to challenge the Australians yet they still managed a win.

06/07 tri-series vs England & New Zealand:
Australia 8 wins from 12 games in wins but going down 0/2 in the final against England.

So as you can see, Australia were dominate in the test series, but failed in the ODI's.

07/08 test series vs India:
Australia looked very good with a 2-3 series win, also playing Sri Lanka and defeating them 2-0.

07/08 tri-series vs India & Sri Lanka:
Australia 5/8 in the group stage, but when the final came up, they lost 0/2 to India.

And again, Australia get as far as winning the tests, but can't put together.

08/09 test series vs South Africa:
Australia getting beaten by South Africa 1-2.

08/09 ODI series vs South Africa:
Australia again, getting beaten in the 5 game one-day series 3-1 with still one match remaing.

So before the South African tour, they were having a great test run, but failing when it comes to the ODI's.
